Meet your planner!

Hi, I am Meghan Goforth, owner and lead planner of Goforth Event Planning.

I am originally from Syracuse, NY but currently reside in the Binghamton area with my husband and son. I am a mom to a very active and energetic four-year-old, who keeps me on my toes. I love to travel and when I am not busy planning weddings, you can find me on Pinterest gathering ideas for our next family adventure.

My favorite form of exercise is jogging, and I often sign up for local 5Ks and other road races. I love sushi, pizza, and a glass of a good Cabernet.

I studied at SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Cortland where I earned my degrees in Spanish and Education. I taught middle school and high school Spanish for several years before forming my company in 2019. Since then, I have been planning weddings and managing events throughout Upstate NY and the Southern Tier.

Planning as a Passion

When I was a little girl - probably 10 years old - I made my first business cards using Microsoft Paint. It was entitled "Party Planners" and had an icon of balloons on it. I printed them and handed them out to all of my family members. I should have known then that planning was my calling.

My favorite part of being a teacher was seeing a well-planned lesson come together, organizing field trips and putting together detailed itineraries for international adventures for my Spanish club students.

It is clear, that planning has always been a passion of mine. Combine that with my creative nature, eye for detail and design, and network of our area's best wedding pros and you'll see you've got the best planner in your corner to execute your big day!

Meet the team!

Zachary

I am so lucky to have a job that I truly love, but I wouldn't be able to do it without the help and support of my team. Even luckier for me, my number two is my husband!

Zach not only helped me establish the business but he has also recently stepped into the roll of day-of coordinator. As an added bonus, he is also ordained. Zach can ensure your wedding runs smoothly and be the person that marries you to the love of your life.

In addition to helping me out, Zach is also a sales representative for a local company and works out of our home office. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports and movies, and has become an avid meat smoker, trying out new spices and creating sauces to go with them.

Laura

Introducing the newest member of the Goforth Event Planning team - Laura! Laura started as a volunteer intern in 2023, helping out with dozens of weddings. In 2024 she stepped into the role of day-of assistant and even acted as lead on-site coordinator for multiple weddings last season. I am excited to have her back for a fourth year!

Laura went to Vestal High School and graduated from SUNY Broome, majoring in business and education with plans to also get a Bachelor's degree. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching awful reality TV shows, and cleaning her house (believe it or not!). She loves to line dance and play with her one-year-old nephew. Laura is always eager to try new things and enjoys making decorative crafts with her Cricut.
